We had a family dog, she was a cockapoo named Carmen. She was a really great dog, totally sweet and loving, never strayed far from the house or ran off. She got hit by a car in a total freak accident. My mom and stepdad were not the most responsible pet owners but they loved that dog to death. I had sort of 'adopted' her, while living at home, and she had become my second dog. I miss her so much.

I currently have a 1 1/2 year old big Yorkie (15lbs) named Jackson, and he missed Carmen for a long time before accepting being the only dog living in the house.

I have been looking into adding another that will be my second dog (not the family dog) and am looking into another cockapoo. I am glad I came across this board so I can learn even more!

Sorry to hear :(
I understand how you feel, my family dog passed away a few years ago, and I have always wanted to get another similiar dog. Cocoa was a medium size standard poodle. We just found our cockapoo, Jersey, and she looks almost identical to my Cocoa, except a little smaller. I am soooo glad we got her, it has really filled that void I was missing for so long. And she is so good with my kids, as was my dog back in the day!
I hope you find yours soon, or maybe they will find you!! :)

Welcome. =) I'm sorry about Carmen, she looks (and sounds!) like she was a great dog. Good luck on your search for a new pup.

Welcome to the site. I'm so sorry to hear about Carmen. :( I can't imagine the sorrow you must've felt after she passed.

Thank you. She was a really great dog. My 5year old brother actually passed away in 2006 and she helped us ALL so much during that time. She was amazing at making us feel better.
