Puzzle was doing really well with his toilet training especially for wees but he really doesn't like the wet, windy weather particularly when it is dark. I take him out but he refuses to go and just sits there whimpering. Even when I have noticed him start to poop inside and whisked him quickly out he still won't go. This evening he started to poop, I rushed him out and then stood outside with him for 20 mins waiting for him to finish before having to give up as my children's dinner was ready.

Is this just going to be one more thing he has to get used to? I am really hoping the wind drops soon.

Something to get used to... for now! We got Bear in the middle of winter (in Canada), so it was freezing and snowy and we would often have to stand out there for 20+ minutes. Puzzle might be distracted by the change in weather and by noises outside. Perhaps stock up on some warm clothes. Don't be discouraged, this stage won't last forever. :)

My 10 month old-who's new to me--

has ha a few "accidents" now that the weather has changed...I' thinking he's not used to NY winters yet...He'll catch on. If he's afraid of the dark, try bringing a flashlight. Best of luck.

Is your garden dog proofed? If so leave him out there. I used to wait for Dillon but ge got too excited and forgot what he was out there for, not I just open the door out he goes and then comes back in as soon as he is done, I do have a little spy out the window to check as well

We had awful weather when we brought Honey home, not so good in the wind, but my husband put the big sun umbrella up and some astro turf down he found so at least we could stand out there and not get wet, the neighbours probably thought we were mad :D x
