Oh Ruth, that did make me laugh. You have a lovely family of Lola, Charlie and Meg. All so pretty.

I'm not entirely convinced by this dominance theory, not every time. Millie loves to hump my leg and she's the most submissive cockapoo imaginable. I wonder if she does it partly out of excitement and partly to show her love ! :D :) We do call them love hugs :D Maybe Lola is just showing her love for Charlie.

Aw Julie, I actually think you might be right! Lola does love him and gets so excited when she sees him! Lola hasn't given us any special love hugs... Yet  hehehe. I love my fur babies, they are the only babies I'm going to have so thank you for your lovely comment.

You are all cracking me up so!! I needed that!! Carley seems to hump Sami more than he does her!!! Sooooo funny to see this "Little sister" smaller than him riding on his back while he just walks on with a look on his face of "What the heck??"

Just catching up with this thread - so funny, given me a good morning giggle!! - funniest thing I remember reading was someone saying their vacuum cleaner (the type you pull along) seemed heavier than usual and when she looked the dog was hanging on humping it!!!

Lots of humping chat on this thread :)

Yep my girls hump each other, mainly around season time .. no joke it is non stop and they all join in together. MandyM calls it a humping conga, which makes me really laugh, but she is so right :)

Hi Ruth & Lola, good to read and see your choccy beauty is growing up and the humping well what can I say ... poor Charlie needs a break lol.You can just stop it by saying do to her or make some space between them, different rooms for a short period of time, but in all honestly it is normal behaviour, just make sure it doesnt get too much for Charlie. Hey you never know he may just let her know when enough is enough :)

Thanks JoJo! She's definitely growing up. Wanted to ask you a question about BH... when did you introduce adult food? Thanks :)

It really depends on the dog when to change over to adult food, around 1 year old is a good guideline, but many owners have switched at around 9 months. I tend to switch when I feel they are fully grown in size and maintaining a good weight.

I still feed the Puppy Days recipe at times to my adult dogs, full of goodness and nice to have a different recipe, they are always fed this when carrying their pups.
