The first trip abroad with Lola and Lulu went smoothly, in fact they were angels. They travelled in their crate without a murmur, we stopped every two or three hours. We were going through to Alicante / Spain so we had booked a dog friendly guest house in France as a stopover each way. They have been to the beach, played in rivers with their cousins (two bichons my brother in law who lives in Spain has) and been to each restaurant we went to without any trouble at all. Although they settled in our apartment, they didn't like being left on their own.
Passport control on the way home was easy, we had been to the vets in Spain before we left to have their worm tablets and passports signed/stamped. A word of caution though, we saw a couple refused entry with their dog because although the passport had been stamped and signed it needs to have the time the worm treatment was administered for them to ensure the 24hr / 5 day limits are met.
We will definitely take them again.
