Hi there, I have just joined the forum and wanted to take the time to introduce myself.

I am Graham and am married with 3 children (all girls - yikes). I grew up with dogs before we had children, but apart from a brief spell looking after an ex racing greyhound have not had a family dog. For me, a family dog is hugely important and we are hoping to take that step soon. I am really interested in the cockapoo and hope on here that I will learn from all you experiened owners and improve my understanding of the breed.

Any advice you can give a cockapoo novice would be much appreciated.

Kind regards
Graham

Hi Graham and welcome to the forum. I am Sarah and I have Daisy who is 11 months old.

You will find lots of friendly advice on here and people will be happy to share their Cockapoo experiences. :)

In addition to this forum there are two other websites that you may find useful.

The Cockapoo Owners Club www.cockapoo-owners-club.org.uk and JoJo's blog www.mydogslife.co.uk both providing great information on choosing a breeder and care and ownership of Cockapoos.

We look forward to hearing how you get on with your search and hope you will keep us updated. :)

Hi Graham & welcome!

Lucky you being in a houseful of women :D My dad is the same lol, my mum, me, my sister & two female cockapoos :) He loves it though i'm sure ;)

Do you know what cockapoos cross you prefer? The English show line cocker spaniel crossed with a miniature poodle (generally - although some cross with toy poodles), an English working cocker spaniel crossed with a miniature/toy poodle or an American cocker spaniel crossed with a miniature/toy poodle?

Do you want another girl or think you fancy a boy this time? Haha or no preference? Any colour preference?

You will find loadsss of information on here & if you have any questions just ask away :) We will all try to help out as best we can :D

I can just echo whats been said already. My OH lives in a female dominated household too. Three daughters, one granddaughter - so I really thought the dog had to be a fella - just to even it up a bit for him :D
