hi all - we are new parents to Tegan our chocolate cockerpoo, she had her 2nd injection today (she's 10 weeks) and has slept and is crying in her sleep. is this normal? weve only had her two weeks and are so in love with her. She is usually so full of life and its breaking our hearts to see her like this. Any advice would be most welcome. xx:confused:

I have heard some say that their dogs were sleepy and off for a day or so after vacs. Mine have never been up or down tho so I cant speak from experience. If it was me I'd give my vet a wee ring for some reassurance and advice.

Oh poor thing, she is probably having a little dream, the injection really shouldn't be hurting her too much...call the vet if you are worried...but when she gets up, rub the area a little to see if the area is sore.

Hi - thanks for your reassurances. I did call the vet and she said it was quite normal to be sleepy afterwards and that she was probably dreaming. She was back to her normal self around 6pm last night - thank goodness! we were so worried. This site is so helpful. thanks again. Cant wait to take Tegan out for her first walk next Saturday

awwww I understand completely!! Vincent slept for aggggges after his jabs and really wasn't his usualy crazy self! The next day though he was back to his cheeky self

Vincent barks ALL THE TIME in his sleep! It's hilarious to watch, he mainly makes low 'ruff ruff' noises but he's woken himself up a few times and looks at me like 'why the hell did you just bark at me?!?!' He growls and whines sometimes too, he's just an active dreamer I think!

hi lady amanda - will post some photos of Tegan when I fathom out how to download them on here. She went out for her first walk yesterday - no luck with collar and lead so bought a puppy harness and she was trotting beside us like a little pony - bless her. She's already well known in our little village - a big hit with the kids coming home from school. haha x
