So we meet the puppies for the first time at 10.30 next Saturday:D. they will be 2 days shy of 4 weeks old, the owner says perhaps a little too early to choose one, but we are free to go back again a few times to choose. She did say if there is a definate one for us on that day we could pick then if we really really wanted to.

Can I ask, what age did you choose your puppy at, I dont mean bring home, i mean just choose from the litter?

Oh and we have a name change already. We are changing from Lolly to Coco. I knew that would happen, we have a completely indecisive daughter, hence we could be a few weeks choosing the puppy yet, lol!

Hi we'll be going to visit ours at the same stage as you, although normally the breeder doesn't arrange viewings until they are around the 5 week mark - we are off on holiday then so we have the pleasure of seeing them a week earlier! I would say anything from your timing onwards is ideal and if you are free to go back and make sure, then that is ideal all round.

Love the name Coco. If I ever get a chocolate poo in the future then she will most probably be called that too!

We chose Hattie at 4 weeks. Just been to see her again today at one day shy of 8 weeks and very happy with the choice although the whole litter is gorgeous. Can't collect her until she is 11 weeks......the waiting is hard!

Very exciting time for you I bet, good luck with picking!

It is personal choice how and when you choose your puppy ... I picked Fudge from approx 2 days old lol :) .. but know others that like to choose for character at around 4-6 weeks old ... some like to choose by *** or coat colour ... there are no rules .. its your puppy .. just enjoy every second of it :)

Polly had been a cancellation victim that I spotted on the internet, and her photo just made me want to go and see her. No other pup photos had the same effect, although there were some nearer me! So we shot up to Taunton the same day - and the rest is history! She was nine weeks old and we came home with her!! So for us there wasn't a choice of pups as the rest had already gone to their homes, apart from the one the breeder was keeping. But I preferred Polly to that one anyway! So I'm glad the original person changed their mind!

Dexter was also a cancellation puppy. I was just at the beginning of our search & sent a few emails to breeders in Devon & Cornwall. Anyway Dexters photo landed in my inbox & I just knew he'd be mine. Took me all of 10 minutes to convince hubby (we were looking to get a puppy late summer not feb !!!) and emailed straight back to say we would have him provided we were happy when we met him. He was 8 weeks but we left him there for another week because my eldest & hubby were on holiday golfing.
It was perfect actually as it meant I could get everything ready. Had a jolly time Internet shipping :)
