Hi,

I am new to this site and wanted a bit of advice. I am looking to get a cockapoo puppy. I have never owned a dog before but have fallen in love with the breed. However I am torn between the cavapoo's and cockapoo's, and keep reading conflicting advice on both types. Please let me know what you guys think? I am also unsure of whether to go for a boy or a girl. I live in a house with a large garden and have two girls aged 9 and 5. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Shirl

Hi Shirl, either cocker or cava will be great family pets and from what I have seen there isn't a huge difference in the appearance with cava's just being slightly smaller. So it really is down to your own preference. I will say though there are more health issues with cavaliers than cocker spaniels, so that is something to be aware of. Good luck in your decision
