Hi all

This is my first post, but have enjoyed reading other peoples problems and tips. Right here goes we have a 13 and half month old cockapoo and a 4 mth
Old cockapoo, both are bitches. Up til now they have both been best of friends,
But recently the older one has been laying into the younger one quite badly. I'm wondering whether our older one is about to have her first season??? This is very unlike her, and my younger one is now quite scared of her:-( any advice out there would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Sue

They definately change when their season is approaching,all dog are different but most do get a little moody and are not their usual self.I would make sure you dont leave them alone for now but perhaps a trip to the vet just to make sure there isnt anything else wrong may help.The behaviour does change again once the season is over.xxx

cant commet on seasons as none of my girls have had a season, but you tend to find that older dogs give the younger dogs a puppy pass for a while where they let them away with everything, then they will start laying down the law of who is boss and what is acceptable.

but the season thing could also explain this.

This is exactly what my girls are at!
I've had unspeyed bitches before and it happened with them.
There are hormones, hierarchies and all that stuff flying about.
It looks like bullying and in a way it is however it's natural as one of them needs to be top bitch.
Of course its the big one controlling the young one. What I find interesting is that I work at a groomers and there are other unspeyed bitches there but my older is submissive to them. It's just dogs!

I have a female in season at the moment, she is just a tease really ha ha ha ...I only have one female and one male .. so it is much different here... lots of cuddling followed by full on flirting, non stop really ... I dont want them getting together so it is quite hard work, cant take my eyes of them .. right better go
