I took Maisie and Bess out for an late afternoon walk at Denbies Vineyard near where I live ... they love it there. We were nearly back to the car and they both dashed off and appeared to be eating something. I hoped it wasn't fox poo and hoped they wouldn't start rolling!

When I got near ... to my shock ... it was what looked like chicken casserole, and the dogs were tucking in like they hadn't been fed for days!!! It was a large quantity, like a bucketful, just dumped on the grass.

I put their leads on and dragged them to the car ... when in the boot I took leads off and told them to STAY while I shut the boot .... Bess escaped and dashed back to scoff a bit more!!!

So by the time we got home I had 2 doggies stinking of chicken and herbs ... I thought it best not to give them their NI on top in case it made them sick ... they had probably eaten quite enough.

NOT pleased ... the restaurant shouldn't really dispose of food that way, it will only encourage foxes and rats ....... and dogs!!!

I have to admit when you mentioned it was something that 'looked like chicken casserole' I was thinking .......vomit! Sorry, couldn't think of a polite way of saying it! I was quite relieved when it appeared to be straight from the pot. ........you're quite right though. Terrible to just empty it out in the grounds. Rats would have a field day. Hope Maisie and Bess don't suffer any ill effects. They'll be back there looking for it though won't they?!!

I love Denbies. Gareth and I had a tour and wine tasting there for his Birthday last year.

 yes, of course, I can see the funny side.

And I agree Karen, when I was a few metres away I thought, oh no, they're eating sick. But it definitely was chicken and herbs in a creamy sort of sauce ... and Maisie & Bess would have definitely left a tip if they could.

Anyway, when we were eating our dinner they seemed frantic for their NI, so I relented and gave them their proper supper .... after which they had a major "mad half hour"! Both are now settling down to sleep!!! :) Hope they manage to digest the 2 meals.
