Hi everyone, this is my first time on here. I have a gorgeous 1 year old cockapoo bitch, who is loving and cute but is also extremely clingy, wont let me out of her sight for a second and constantly stuck to me. She is also very hyperactive and hardwork, she doesn't like going for walks because she is extremely nervous of other dogs especially large bouncy ones! So I cant let her off the lead in dog areas cos she runs if one comes towards her, so I am stuck with pavement walking atm which I hate. She likes running after a ball in the garden but wont do this in a field cos she is looking out for other dogs. I cant wear her out so I dont get hardly any quiet time at home and she exhausts me. I love her but am at my wits end. Any tips please for what I can do.

Its been such a difficult time have you been able to leave her alone at all ?.....have you tried a doggy day care where she may get a chance to socialise with other dogs under the guidance of knowledgeable dog handlers ? That would give you some free time without her and give her the chance to socialise ?

Doggie daycare sounds like it will terrify her. Get in touch with a good reward based trainer who will be able to help you both, she needs mental stimulation rather than just physical so things like searching for food or toys are much better then ball throwing. In the UK try an APDT trainer who will be able to help you help her to regain some confidence and independence

If you find a reputable doggie day care they will do a full assessment of your do they have sensory rooms and one to one care with a gradual introduction to other dogs. We are a nation of dog lovers Just do your research because it sounds like you would benefit by the time away .Only you know the best way forward Good luck I hope you find a solution for you both
