Buddy's having the best time ever in Norfolk so far he's jumped in the salt marshes with his big pal Merlin,he's met up with Buffy and Pixie for a fabulous walk through the pine trees and along the beach. He had the fright of his life yesterday when out of nowhere he was set apon by two greyhounds! But his pal Merlin jumped in and saved him(it was very scary, but a beautiful moment when Merlin came to his friends rescue). He has been the centre of attention when ever we go out everyone loves him and so do most of the dogs we meet.I will put up some pics when we get home ,I must say we come here every year but this has been the best holiday ever thanks to my cute new gorgeous puppy.dx

Ah Donna. Your holiday sounds amazing. What kind of dog is Merlin? That's awful about the greyhounds! I know it's not fair to tar greyhounds all with same brush but it always seems to be greyhounds doing the attacking - especially on this forum! I'm a nervous wreck whenever I see one!

How did Merlin protect him? I think I need to get another dog for Nacho's protection!! :) Any excuse for more pups! ;)

Merlin is a flat coated retriever,we were playing cricket on the beach Merlin was fielding (ha ha) Buddy was stuck to him like glue as usual first one of the greyhounds came over to stiff another dog close by. Buddy just walked towards him (did nothing) and boy did he turn round and snap at him then gave chase ,Merlin ran over and just placed his self in between them anr glared at him ,the greyhound toke off.

Then the family started to walk away ,i had Buddy on a lead just to be sure i toke him off when i thought it was safe then out of nowhere the second greyhound raced over and just stood there looking at Merlin (this one had a muzzle on) anyway Buddy stood well back then all of a sudden he spotted Buddy and just went crazy Buddy was zipping in and out of us trying to get away the greyhound was trying to pin him down with his claws he was barking and growling Buddy was whimpering it was very upsetting.

Thankgod my daughter caught Buddy as he zipped past and we placed ourselves between Buddy and the dog the owner then came and got him .

What was worse they never said sorry they just toke the dog and walked off,15mins later as they walked down the beach the greyhound went for another cute looking dog and this time it was even worse, thank god he was muzzled!!!!

Sorry for essay but at least i know now never to let Buddy go near a greyhound again,i must say he was a bit timid after that but the next day he was back to his bright bouncy self !

Hi Donna! Sounds like you all had a fantastic holiday:D Poor Buddy, there are some nasty dogs out there, but gorgeous Merlin(he is gorgeous because i met him;)) was a real pal to Buddy and protected him...how lovely. We had the most fantastic day with you all,and it was great to meet you all and Buddy(i know i txt you this but will say it again..lol)
We went to Holkham again today and did a mini Wells walk, had a bitof a fright when we came across some horseriders that just appeared out of nowhere, tried desperately to get Pixie on her lead, but she legged it over to them, running around near their legs:eek: if one had kicked her she would have been killed im sure! what a nightmare, but she did come back in the end, scary stuff. Cant wait to see some pictures B x

Lovely that you got to meet up and walking on the beach, just perfect :)

It's such a shame that poor dog owners have to spoil it for the rest of us. Glad the dog was muzzled at least. On our walk today we met two dogs and one of them went for Obi. Obi yelped and legged it! My daughter was frightened and started crying and the other two owners never said a word, just carried on chatting and walked on . I nearly went after them to say something but decided against it as I had the kids with me. Just as well as I'm getting fed up with irresponsible dog owners :fencing:
