I'm bringing my new pup home on Sunday to my three year old dog. Not too worried about the introduction but I am expecting some jealousy issues but Im planning on greeting, feeding etc Wilf first. I crated Wilf when he was little but now his bed is just in the lounge and is absolutely fine. We are planning on using a crate for the new pup and putting her in the kitchen/dining area as i thought they may upset each other by being in the same proximity but seperated by the crate ...... Any advice or people own experience would be greatly appreciated :confused:

i would wait and see how they get on. i would say keep them in the same room as im guessing you will want then to sleep together at some point anyway. you may find for the first couple of days he will be grumpy, on the otherbhand he may love having her about from day one. the more relaxed about bringing her in the easier it will be.

yeh i do eventually ... just thought they might stress if they could see/sense each other but are seperated by the crate. Having said that we looked after someones gerbils once and Wilf kept crying to go and see them when they were in a different room lol . Might have to play it by ear x

we found with gypsy and inca when they were spayed we crated the one that was spayed so the other wouldnt pull out the stitches. so when gypsy was spayed we found them sleeping side by side against the bars of the crate. they looked so cute together.
