does she eat or drink before car trips. Inca was a very sicky puppy, it wasnt untill we did a 2 hour trip the st Andrews beach that she stopped it. that was a 4 hour round trip.

lots of people say short trips but i tink they need a good long trip to get them over it.

Izzie gets very stressed out in the car, she pants a lot & doesn't like travelling at all, but she did stop being sick at some point, she was sick as a pup, we stopped feeding her before journeys & she has been fine for quite some time (but still stressed).
Poppy however - came home wednesday) an hour & a half trip & didn't even care! Slept most of the way, then the last 20-30 minutes was quite happy bting cardigans! Shocked, because Izzie has always been a bad traveller.
Tbh they are both so different personality wise etc from what I have seen so far, Izzie has never been a good eater, Poppy doesn't seem to stop! Izzie was easy to toilet train & slept through the night straight away, Poppy is being a little bugger weeing on the kitchen floor when the door was open for her! Haha & she kept us up nearly all night last night :( So hoping she will be better tonight as I am so tired!!

Where abouts in the car is Charlie. The back of the car has a lot more sway and movement. Ask any person who gets car sick where they prefer to sit.

Maybe try the front passenger seat for a couple of journeys and then work your way back through the car.

Have no idea if it will work, as Millie wasn't car sick, but cried on her first couple of journeys. We did short trips with her in the front seat and lovely destinations so she associated car journeys with something nice. She now sits on the back seat, lies down and sleeps for most of the journeys. We regulary do 2hr journeys with her in the back.

I did hear though that it can be the way dogs are, something to do with their body not being able to handle the journeys, which is why some are car sick, although I can't remember how I heard it, so not sure how true it was, maybe try look it up & see if it gives any reasons?

My Betty never looks out of the car and always just lies down as soon as we get in the car. i've been lucky as she's never been car sick, not even on the journey home from collecting her from the breeder. She does normally lie facing towards me in the car (she has a car harness and sits on the front passenger sit) but even if she's in the back she lies facing into the car so maybe she prefers not to see things flying past the car??

We were speaking to our veterinary nurse the other day about this (although Oakley has only been sick once) & she said that if it continued we could get something from them for travel sickness.

Milo used to be sick if he was in the crate in the car which is what we used when we first had him. I then bought a car harness so he sits on the seat and it fits into the seatbelt catch. We put a towel and puppy training pad down to protect the seat but he hasn't been sick at all since we have had it and he goes in the car a lot.
