Any of your cockerpoos behave very nicely one day, seem like they're moving right along with being trained, calming down the biting, etc, then the next day they're totally insane creatures? Biting everything, chewing furniture, eating chunks of dirt etc. Then fine again. So strange, but I'm guessing just random puppy behavior?

I haven't really started any behavior training yet. Chip is 11 weeks now. Anyone have any good exercises for them? Thanks!

Maybe a nice big raw meaty bone to chew on when he is worked up and seems full of energy as chewing gets rid of a lot of energy and keeps them occupied. If Flo is worked up I always ask her to find her bone and she'll get it, gnaw away frantically for 10 minutes then settle. If you aren't giving raw bones try a stagbar (chunk of deer antler from www.puredog.co.uk). They are clean, provide nutrients (and have a kind of reddish, very dry sponge like 'marrow' inside) and keep her teeth clean. Since finding she likes stagbar I've dispensed with nylabones altogether. Flo has the medium size which is just right for her. It cost £4.99 and will probably last a few months.

For exercise maybe start working on ball retrieving as it is a great way to exercise a dog and keep them focussed on you when playing with them off lead. Flo's ball retrieve has lead her into flyball which is great fund once they reach 12 months.

Mandy - great idea on the bones. I've just been giving those rope fabric ones b/c he's so young I thought I should wait on any real stuff. His tummy has seemed a bit upset the last few days.

They sure just have a lot of energy!
