Following on from what Colin said, my Betty was similar when left in the car when she was little. I used to leave her in the car for a minute or so when I got out so she then got used to the fact I would get her, then would take her with me when went to the petrol station so she had the time on her own when I laid. Now she is really good in the car.

I always feel happier leaving Betty in the car rather than outside a shop as I figure you've got to really want to get at Betty if you will smash a window in daylight to get her out!!

PS I thought of you today as I was driving through SW London at about 5.15 and saw someone walking a black cockapoo to the park.
