My husband and I are going on vacation and I think our cockapoo Bella has figured it out. She has not been acting like herself at all. Doesn't want to play and only wants to sleep. Took her to the vet, he couldn't come up with an explanation. Do you think they can have bouts with depression? I know they are very smart, but I didn't she would pick up on our talking about it!

Poor Bella, is she eating?Happy about going for walks? Could just be that she is picking up on your anxiety about leaving her and she just knows something is up. I wouldn't worry too much,I am sure she will be back to her old self very soon.

When are you off on your hols and have you started packing yet? Bella may just be having an 'off' couple of days. Sometimes Rufus has been a little more tired that usual for a few days especially if there has been a lot going on. Hope she picks up soon.

Obi definitely sulked when I had the suitcases out and was packing. As someone else said I'm sure they pick up on your feelings too. I was upset about leaving him and I think I transferred it to him.

Yeh Im sure she can just sense that something is different and that your feelinf a little tense. If the vets checked her out then I should nt worry.... there are other posts about people being reluctant to go on holiday only to find there dogs have had a great time whilst they were away.... enjoy your break and then enjoy your reunion

Thank, everyone for making me feel better. Once she gets to the kennel, I know she loves it, it just kinda makes it a little harder to leave her.

Yep - Treacle picked up on my anxiety when we were packing to go away - she refused to eat for 2 days - I had to spoon feed her just before my husband took her to home boarding [I was sobbing]
It sounds like Bella has been to the kennels before so at least you know it is familiar for her and so you can enjoy your vacation x
