Hi everyone, dolly is almost 5 months so I am starting to think (and worry) about her first season which hopefully wont be for a few months but am aware it could be approaching!
Her vet has advised to let her have one season before her spay so after much research we are going with that.

My main worry is her and bear together....

He has been neutered so that's one good thing, but I've been reading that they still need to be kept apart, even when supervised?
They both go to day care as we work full time, but dolly would be home while in heat, planning on trying to cover this period between us with annual leave but as it will be abit of last minute booking it may not be poss, so may have to arrange for lots of home visits and possibly short lead walks?

Has anyone got experience in this? i read that its possible bear would not give her a minutes peace and i am panicking at the thought of them managing to do 'it'! i know that my parents would look after one of them but it seems like an awful long time for them to be apart and i really dont want to have to do that unless it really would be best for both of them?

also would I know straight away that she was in heat, im scared I will send her to day care not realising!!!! I know all the signs and symptoms, but do you still defiantly know!? xxx

HOhoho have I had experience?!?! Live doggy porn going on in my house morning noon and night! I sympathies with you.....
Ralph had also been neutered, and it was Ruby's first season.
Even with supervision, been extra vigilant and taking it in turns to crate them - they still managed to tie at least 6 times, it was pretty relentless for 2 weeks solid
It wasn't so much Ralph pestering ruby - it was the other way around.... She was always twerking in his face and offering it on a plate!!
Read my old post - I think it was "Ruby's lost her virginity"

I too am facing the same thing, but I have decided to just ,let them get on with it'. Max has been neutered so there will be no puppies, but I Figure it's nature and we may as well go with the flow. There would be only me able to intervene anyway and I am not prepared to be chaperone for two weeks solid. Seems boys will be boys, and girls will be girls. :)
