During a brighter spell, Phoebe and I took Izzy to one of our favourite places yesterday - John Muir Country Park. It took us a lot longer than usual, but she wouldn't be carried very much :) I was very brave, and let her off her lead as soon as we were away from the car park. She trotted off after Phoebe, kept an eye on me, and came back if I called her. It was an absolute joy. It's so easy with a big sister to help :D

Well done on the off-lead walkies! I've got a 50 acre field at the bottom of the garden but haven't mentioned it to Rupert yet. Once he knows it's there it's there he's going to be scaling the hedge and disappearing over the horizon... Perhaps if I blindfold him and spin round a few times before taking him in...

If you have a good puppy, who loves to keep you in sight or follow you around a bit, I would suggest letting them off the lead as soon as possible.

Take a look at this thread that was posted recently. Flounder_1 Janet, gave some really good advice.

Hope the link works, if it fails, it from M&M's Mummy on What is the best advice you've been given.

Yes Julie,Janet gave me some fab advice and i shall be doing all of this next mon! I have also got a whistle and im blowing it or calling Pixie, she comes straight away and i then give her tiny bits of cheese.....she loves cheese, and is such a good girl im sure we will be ok!:) I have also been calling her when she is into her Pigs ear or having a lovely time trashing my plants,to see whether it distracts her...and it does every time so far, result! Obviously cheese is the way to go,but just not too much of it as it can make them a bit loose...or fat...lol :D
