Greedy Bo and her chicken wing

We gave Bo a little chicken wing today and she scoffed it down so quickly, I think she must have swallowed it without hardly chewing it. She wouldn't let me hold the other end. Will it still be digested properly? She's 15 weeks.

I told my friend to give her dog (whos 5) a chicken wing ,she did and he ate it whole ,he was then sick but re ate it
Just keep an eye on her im sure its fine ,did you smash it up a bit first?
This is quite normal - Biscuit does this daily - and I've read that bones break down and digest quickly due to the strength of their stomach acid. It is a bit alarming to watch though!
I chickened out (pardon the pun), when I gave Millie a chicken wing. She hid it in her mouth and I though uh-oh that's going down whole. So I took it away.

I will try again, and bash it up a bit first just in case.

Good to know the acid in the stomach is strong enough to break it down. :D
Bonnie had her first chicken wing at 8 weeks old. I find she is better with the bigger wings than the smaller ones- she chews them more. Sometimes there is a small piece of bone left at the end- I usually whip it away if I can, just because of its small size.
Thanks. I'll bash it up a bit next time.

giving the wings frozen forces them to chew the bone so they cant just swalow them.

Yes, although you'd ideally want a mix of bone too for the correct nutrition - but ok for the odd meal. If I gave mine just chicken I would mix in some raw grated carrot too.
Thanks. I'll bash it up a bit next time.
willow has chicken wings, and today i timed her,she ate it in 90seconds.
she has never brought it back up.:)
