After tentatively posting a couple of times, I thought it was about time I did a proper introduction. Hi to all - I am a first time (nearly) cockapoo owner, due to get Poppy on 8 May - an all black beauty. This site has already been a great help in planning out what to buy; how to manage the first few days; bathing, etc, and I can't wait to get started.

The family (2 children aged 8 and 3) went to visit her today to check that she was the right one for us (hard to tell at 4 weeks when we first saw her). Glad to say that she was a dream - lovely and playful, but then had a cuddle at the end! It was well worth the 200 mile round trip, as now I'm sure she's the right pup for us, so can stop worrying and start puppy-proofing the house. I have only recently put the stair gates away!

Photo attached, but will try to upload the video we took today. Looking forward to talking 'cockapoo' with you all! :)

Hi again - thanks for your welcome - it's scarily addictive this site. Think my hubby's getting a bit concerned!

I know its only a few weeks away now, but it really was hard leaving her - on countdown now till we bring her home. Is it daft to be worried that they will give the wrong pup away, and someone else will have my Poppy??

Karen - yes she is from Sylmls. They have a video up on their site at the moment which Poppy is on.

I've just fished the stair-gates out of the garage and have moved all the chewables from her space. Just need to figure out what size cage to buy now.....

Hi Michelle.
poppy looks lovely. Ah I know how you feel. got our little girl last week after a 2 month wait. But it was worth it cos we are smitten.
yes its hard puppy proofing and getting right stuff. i went overboard ha ha. loads of toys but missie would rather play with toilet roll !!!
I got a 26inch crate from internet which fits her bed and toys in and she goes in herself now. I also dropped on a small playpen which is great to put her in with her toys. I think the first few weeks are probably the hardest your I am scared to let her out of my sight. lol. speak soon.:)

Hi All - just got my new crate delivered today - went for a 30" savic with a divider. We were getting withdrawl symptoms so went for another visit to Poppy yesterday - she is now the only one from her litter left, but is with the other pet dogs so has some company. She was really excited to see us and has really fluffed out since we last saw her. Can't wait to get back from holiday to collect her!

Just for 6 days, but we didn't want to unsettle her by bringing her home then having to leave her again with someone new. Think this is the first holiday we all can't wait to get back from! At least she will have had her second jab by the time we pick her up (on the way home from the airport), so it won't be long before she can go out and about.

Love the new picture of your 4 - they all look so chilled :)
