Hi there!

Welcome to the forum :welcome:!

My name is Turi and I'm hoping to get my first Cockapoo at the end of February.

A lot of the members on this forum feed their puppies and adult dogs Natural Instinct which is a prepared raw meal: http://www.naturalinstinct.com/. Not sure if you can get something similar in Singapore?

Alternatively a good quality kibble (dry food) such as Barking Heads http://www.barkingheads.co.uk/ or something similar. Basically you want something that is as natural as possible.

Puppies need to be fed three or four times a day when they're eight weeks old - someone with more experience will tell you how much (i.e. what percentage of their body weight to feed them each day)

So, tell us more about your little Furkin :p. What cross is he? Have you got any photos? Have you chosen a name? What made you decide on a Cockapoo?

Enjoy the forum!

Hi Lizzie and Turi,

its nice to hear from both of you.

Over here in Singapore we do not have both of this brand, Currently he is being fed Science diet by the breeder. He is a cross between Cockapoo and a Poodle.. i Suppose he will look more of a poodle as he grows...

I would say i was initially looking at having a CKC ( Cavaliar King Charles ), however this little furkid caught both my wife's and my eyes the moment we entered. We came to know that he is as per mentioned a cockapoo although not a F1. From then on we did our research on cockapoos and realised how amazing they are. ( with kids, ;) ) After two weeks of research we decided on him and have been busy ever since preparing for his arrival this saturday.

We named him Cooper. I hope to learn from everyone here in the forum

He is gorgeous :D & just incase you weren't sure what kind of cockapoo he is, he's an F1b, which means a cockapoo bred back to one of the pedigree parents in your case the poodle, 7 he will also probably have a curlier coat because of that :)

I love his colour, I like CKCs as well :) But cockapoos stole my heart in the end :) & they don't moult as much.

Ooooo, Cooper is so gorgeous. He looks like he's going to be very curly!

I think you've made a great choice - Cavaliers are beautiful but unfortunately have their fair share of health problems which would be just heart-breaking.

I've just Googled Science Diet and it looks like it's part of the Hills group http://www.hillspet.com/products/sd-canine-puppy-ideal-balance-dry.html

These are the ingredients of their puppy food:

Chicken, Brown Rice, Soybean Meal, Whole Grain Wheat, Chicken Meal, Pork Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid), Dried Egg Product, Flaxseed, Dried Beet Pulp, Natural Flavor, Cracked Pearled Barley, Whole Grain Oats, Apples, Lactic Acid, Cranberries, Fish Oil, Peas, Carrots, Soybean Oil, Dicalcium Phosphate, Iodized Salt, Broccoli, vitamins (L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate (source of vitamin C), Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin, Thiamine Mononitrate, Vitamin A Supplement, Calcium Pantothenate, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Riboflavin, Folic Acid, Vitamin D3 Supplement), Choline Chloride, Vitamin E Supplement, Potassium Chloride, minerals (Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Copper Sulfate, Manganous Oxide, Calcium Iodate, Sodium Selenite), DL-Methionine, L-Tryptophan, Taurine, L-Threonine, preserved with Mixed Tocopherols and Citric Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Beta-Carotene, Rosemary Extract.

I'm afraid I don't know much about pet food but this looks ok....

Thanks ladies,

Cooper slept in his crate from 10pm to 8am in the morning.. Tried not to close his fence last night but had a small accident albeit peeing near his pee pan... After which he slept all the way till the next morning without waking both my wife and I up, fed him and now he is in his pen playing.. Basically I would say he is about 80% pee potty trained with some spillages haha.. Sleep wise for the first night was good and trying to see if it's a one time off or it's going to be consistent ... Will keep you ladies update cheers

Aww cute pictures, look how wide his eyes are open! Can barely see my Izzie's through all the fur anymore lol. & I like his toy :)
haha thats why the puppy days are short lived... come and go in a flash.

2nd night no mess slept almost throughout until 5 plus in the morning today... ignored his whinning and he went back to sleep till 730 am when the mrs woke up to prepare for work...

Will gather feedback today from my in laws with regards of putting him in the crate for a straight 5 - 6 hours ( i know its not exactly good for him )... But he is still waiting for his last jab thus i have indicated to my in laws not to let him out unless a need arises. Trained him yesterday in a crate from 30 mins - an hour - and subsequently 2 hours where he took his nap in the crate.....

Cheers.... A joy to have him in the family
