Hello i'm new to this forum. We're looking for a cockapoo in the south east of England. Can anyone recommend a good breeder in this area. Surrey, sussex or London would be fine as well . x

If you find one let me know - they all seem to be quite away away for decent breeders - wherabouts are you?

I'm after an English F1 bred with a show cocker, preferably apricot or white and crossed with a toy poodle. Ive been doing lots of homework on it. Ive looked at breeders online and epupz, but the problem is, you hear all these horror stories about puppy farms and i want to avoid these! How do I know that these breeders aren't puppy farms? Oh, by the way, I live in Tunbridge Wells in Kent.

You're one step nearer by knowing where you dont want to get one from, be confident enough to ring them up if you see something you like the look of and ask questions. You'll get an idea just from talking to them if they know what they are doing and their motives, check regarding health and eye testing and how often the bitch is bred. If they have more than a certain number of dogs then they have to be registered ring their local enviromental health office and ask about them, google them I liked the look of some pups but when i googled the breeder all sorts of stories came up, maybe ask if they've got any one whose had one of their pups who you could speak to, look at photos etc. If you're close enough go and have a look . If all goes well then you want to see the pups with the mum. Be confident you've done your homework so you know what you're looking for if you dont like the answers or what you see you'll walk away .... good luck make contact x

Sounds like you want a puppy like our Teddy:). He is white apricot F1 - american mummy and toy daddy. We travelled to Wales from Scotland for him, and I have to say he was well worth the journey. Hope you are able to get what you are looking for before too long. Teddy is a year old now and has completely turned our life upside down - in a nice way, of course. Good luck in your search.

Yes, it looks like I will have to travel a long way to get the right puppy, but it will be worth it! Has anyone had any dealings with Anzil puppys? They look like the sort of breeder Im after. They're a long way from home though!

Thanks for the thread, its taught me a lot. We're going to get our puppy from Anzils, hopefully in the summer. My daughters friend got hers from there. Her mum said that the dogs were very much a part of the family, all had good temperaments, Anthony clearly loved his dogs and you saw the parents. He took the time to go through every thing and paid special attention to the detail, for example, he knew the puppy had a 5 hour journey home so he did not feed her too close to the journey. Her friend had got one from another well known breeder, who i wont name, they didn't see the parents and the puppy was sick in the car on the way home! It must have been fed i guess. Also he has had a recommendation from a vet which checks out. She said that all his dogs are well socialised with the other dogs in his house and that apart from the first half hour in the car when the puppy cried a bit, she then fell asleep for 3 hours. She's been great. She slept the first night, found her crate and just went in to it without a problem and has had no accidents. Also loves children, lovely temperament and loves other dogs! It's a long journey there, 5 hours, but I will stay the night and stop off somewhere on the way there to make the most of it. Oh, and when i spoke to him, he really cares that his dogs are going to good homes!
Top Mac do look good, but the trouble is they won't have any English crosses until October, and if there aren't any females in the littet I could be waiting another year. I have the patience, but i don't think my children do!

That is exciting!!! What are you after, boy or girl, do you have a preference in colour?
I want a cream/apricot boy ...... my house is full of males so one more won't hurt - i have looked into loads of breeders & i think Anthonys dogs temperaments seem (by what people say) fantastic, which i think speaking to people on here & at home is more important than looks (even though i love Alfiedoo on here - hope mines like him)!! What about you?

Aah Alfie says "thank you" Jools ;). I got an e mail off Anthony yesterday funny enough asking about Alfie! His after care is brilliant and you can tell he is really interested to hear how his puppies are growing up! The summer will be here before you know it and you'll be picking your pup up! :D very exciting!!!
