Just a quick post to say "hello"! I just got my new little fluff-ball, and it is our first family pet. Our little one has allergies to dogs, and the reason we decided to go with a cockapoo.

I have always been a larger breed dog lover, and never thought I would settle for a small dog, but so far so good. It is definitely a learning experience for all of us, especially my three small children, but training the four of them is quite rewarding so far.

Her name is "Izzy", and she came from a local small breeder. The breeder was awesome, and the pup is too!!

I guess I am not quite sure how to answer your question. Mom is a 2nd generation, and dad is pure poodle..... Not sure if that answers your question. Maybe you can help me understand?

Very confusing all this F1, F2, F2B, F3, F4, etc..... what does it all mean....???? lol.

She is adapting well, except training the kids she is not to be held and carried around. My 6 year old holds her very awkward, and therefore has several bite marks on her face. It sounds terrible, but I am doing my best to correct both of them at the same time. She gets along great with my oldest (8) and youngest (2). For some reason she doesn't really feel comfortable around the middle one.

Oh she's lovely and see what you mean about fluff ball
Here goes an F2 is a second generation where both parents are cockapoos.
If Izzy s dad had been a cockapoo she'd have been F3 i.e third generation but because her dad was a poodle she is F2b... a second generation cockapoo backcrossed to a poodle. ( F2 her mum b backcrossed her dad ) ... see clear as mud Rob
