Hi everyone,

Another newbie here. Am impatiently waiting to collect my new cockapoo... only a week to go! He's black and White, and obviously beautiful :) We're going to call him Pareto... random I know, but what you get when you get two accountants together to pick their pup's name :)

Am really excited, and welcome any tips on welcoming him into the household. I have two little boys aged 5 & 7, although I think my boyfriend is more excited than them :)

Hi There and welcome! do you have pics of that little one??
I do have pics, but only on my phone at the mo... and not sure how to upload them onto here as yet! I'm sure I'll figure it out soon :)
Photo bucket is my fav, and has an app for phones too! :) there are instructions on the Cockapoo pictures catagory. Can't wait to see some!!
What kind of cockapoo is he? American/English?? Miniture etc??
Will look at that tomorrow when I'm slightly more awake :)

His mum is a black and white English show-type cocker spaniel and his dad is a chocolate brown minature poodle.... met both of them at the breeder's, and they were lovely and friendly, so am hoping that Pareto is too. He seems really chilled out, yet friendly and enthusiastic at the same time. Can't wait to bring him home!
Great name, I like different names .. oh and I like Cockapoo puppies :)

we will all want to see pic of your new puppy .. he sounds very cute ...

He may have siblings from his litter on here.. where is he from?

I have a new puppy coming home in 3 weeks time :) I am so excited ... her name is Picnic :) I hope her siblings come on here too xxx
Hi and welcome to the forum!
I'm a newbie puppy owner too, Vincent is our first puppy and cockapoo! He's amazing, as are all cockapoos!

I can't wait to see some pictures :D
Welcome to the forum Kerry, will you be using a crate at night and have you thought if you will be grooming (fully I mean, we all have to groom to a degree to keep the matts and tangles away :D) yourself or not? Best advice I could give is check out local puppy/dog training meetings...even if you think you will be fine training at home, it is priceless for the socialising and general tips. Can't wait to see pics of the wee fella. What area are you? :D x
Managed to upload a photo...

Unfortunately couldn't work out how to resize it on photobucket on my iPad!

We're getting Pareto from a poodle breeder in Walsall, West Midlands... which is not far from where we live. There were three girls & three boys... and the girls have all been reserved.

We will be crate training, so any tips will be gratefully received... I will have a nose around the forum too. And I'm planning to do basic grooming myself, but may need help with anything more exciting than that!

Also going to sort out some puppy classes and then initial training to point us in the right direction. This is our first dog, so we need all the help and advice we can get :)

Thanks for your links, will read with interest! It'll be good to hear about your experiences with your pups.... if Pareto is anything like my children I'll be blessed with an angelic baby dog who suddenly morphs into a terror :)

Pareto is black with a white bib.... can't wait to get him home!

Rufini, Vincent looks really similar to Pareto... will be interesting to see how they grow up!

Kerry he looks lovely... did you make his name up or is it from some where ? x
Hi Kerry
and :welcome:. It will be a few weeks off, but do you know what sort of puppy training you are going to do. I did Clicker Training, it was really good and works on rewarding good behaviour not punishing bad behaviour. :D
Hey,

I am currently chilling in the south of France, lusting over mega-yachts and drinking lots of wine :)

And counting the sleeps until we bring our little pup home (5 more!)

Pareto (pronounced pa-ray-toe) is named (nerdily) after the Pareto principle, otherwise known as the 80:20 rule... for example.... you wear 20% of your wardrobe 80% of the time. My boyfriend applies to me and the amount of bed I take up :) I know it's a nerdy name for a pup... But seems to suit him!

Haven't thought too much about training yet, but definitely will be picking people's brains on here.

Take care all,

K

I thought that too! Vincent is a teeny bit older but he was the runt of the litter so I bet they are the same size now!
There a quite a few pups that are around this age, they should all be in a gang :star:
