Hi people and pups. We picked up our new beautiful girl on Saturday and she's amazing. She is all black and just perfect :) Betsy is our first Cockapoo and we are amazed how clever she is even at 8 weeks! Any tips/advice for the first weeks at home?

julie
Welcome Betsy and family ...

Cara that advice is good ...

Julie ha ha ha .. umm puppies can make you tired ...

My advice go with the flo, enjoy her, stick to your boundaries / rules and try to get a good nights sleep :)

Most of all enjoy being a cockapoo mummy xxx
Hi and welcome!

Betsy is lovely! Like JoJo says stick to a routine and enjoy it!

Sarah
Welcome! :D Where did you get her from & what mix is she? show/working etc?
She's gorgeous :D Enjoy your pup
Oh and if the rules slip .. that's just part of having a cockapoo :)

Many of us start by saying no dogs on the sofa .. ummm that rule may be set to be broken ... enjoy your puppy ... you will have tired days and puppies can try you ... it is not all happy and fluffy .. just come on here .. we will support you on the bad days xxx

But there are so many happy puppy days the old one bad day .. is easy and just makes it feel real ...
Hi
We are in S Yorkshire and she is from a black working cocker mum (who belongs to a local friend) She is so relaxed and we had the up-side of knowing her and the family before choosing our pup. (which also meant I got to spend extra time with Betsy before she came home) This is her first litter and she has been the best Mummy. Dad is a black miniature. Betsy is one of 5 pups and if she grows up with a personality like her mummy we will be very lucky :)
Where abouts in South Yorkshire, i'm in the Leeds area :)
She sounds gorgeous! Lucky to be able to spend lots of time with her as well, tell all her brothers & sisters owners to get on ILMC as well :D haha
If I could go back to the first week and give myself advise it would be to relax, be consistant and dont stress! They do try you but only because they are little puppies that dont know right from wrong and what ever they get up to...it is normal and they soon learn (especially when treats are being dished out!!) lol. Good luck, she is scrummy!.xx
She looks lovely! :D My experience so far is that puppies are amazing AND annoying! xD I have gotten used to no sleep and chewed up pillows... we're just over 2 weeks in
Thanks everyone. The sleep bit has been a breeze, she's been sleeping really well with no crying (either that or I'm sleeping through her cries... is that bad?) The only bit we are having trouble with is my 3 year old. Betsy treats him like another puppy and constantly swings off him and nips him but doesn't do this to adults!
Laura(L)Izzie... we are in Sheffield
JoJo... the sofa rule already went out of the window :) she's just too cute!
