Hi all,
I have been away from this site for a week now. as it has been a week from HELL!
my Grandfather passed away this week, and my husband lost his job, i can't wait for this to be over.
But lady has been the most amazing support, they just know how to make you feel a little bit better.

I was alone with her when I found out about my Grandpa and normally she is hyper in the mornings, however she calmed right down and sat with me quietly on the couch, she never left my side, it was like she was trying to make sure I was ok.

Then my husband lost his job yesterday and when we got home she knew something was up, she was quiet and kept by him, then when I guess she could tell we needed a laugh she started attacking my husband with kisses! she never does that to him....she knew what to do to make us laugh when all we wanted to do was cry.

I am sorry this isn't the happiest of posts on a Friday but I just wanted to share how special our little friends really are, and I just wonder how they know.

Yes you are absolutely right they can be really sensitive to your mood and can provide great comfort. I also find it is really hard to be miserable around Dylan and impossible to walk him without a smile on my face. To watch them enjoying every moment of every day reinforces the importance of living in the moment and getting happiness from everyday pleasures even when your life is going through a bad phase.
I really hope that things improve for you soon

hey, i am so sorry you have had such a bad week. unfortunately things like this normally come in threes. but you never know with your husbands job loss he may end up having a better offer round the corner. my mum is very into the planets and star sines and apparently this is a year of change, half the people she knows are changing jobs or getting promotions. you never know what will happen.

sorry to hear about your granddad, animals pick up on so much, hope you have a nice relaxing time tonight to just unwind, maybe a nice glass of wine or a hot choc or something that will just help you unwind.

my mum likes to think of the day a loved one passes as a new birthday for them in their new spirit life.

Thank you Kendal,
I like the way your mum thinks, what a nice way to think of it.
My mom is also into the stars and planets, just not so much recently.
Last year for us was a big year of change, we got married, bought a house, I got a job as I had been unemployed for 8 months, and we got lady....I was hoping 2011 was going to be boring!...guess not.
I was glad to have lady with me, it did help.

I hope that my husband does find something new, and better too! I will stay positive and say that he will! all of this was so unexpected so it is a real shock...

I think some wine on the couch with hubbers and Lady might be just the ticket...no wine for lady...maybe a yummy raw hyde instead

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband and your grandpa. When I left college I started a job and was laid off about a year and a half later with almost 1/2 the company. I was so destroyed because I thought I would never be able to find another job, etc etc etc. In the end it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Looking back on it I really hated the job but just didnt know that I could do better. Needless to say, 3 weeks later I found a job that I loved which then propelled me into figuring out my dream job and here I am, in graduate school! You just never know when life needs to give you that little push that makes you stand up and reach for what you want. Sometimes we get so stuck where we are, a little change can be refreshing. BEST of luck <3

Thanks Everyone, for the positive thoughts! I know things will get better....it looks bleak right now...but we will just have to wait for the good that is around the corner....I guess that second puppy will be on hold now for sure. lol. and a good thing is that Lady will have her daddy home with her all day and all night when she goes in to get fixed. :)
