How Do You Know its a Roan?

I have two roans a blue roan and a chocolate roan. It was pretty obvious from about four weeks as their white patches had little freckles inside.

You can tell from the colour of the pads. At birth they are all pink, then after a few days the roan pups will start to have a dark colour ring around the edge of each pad that closes in until all of their pads are dark. The any other white and colour mixed pup will have pads that are pink with dark patches. J x

We checked a litter that had choc and white pups at birth and the pads of their feet had a kind of halo ( we got this advice from zim cockers)so we were sure they were going to be roans but they stayed partis so sometimes the pads on the paws change for partis too,we wouldve loved for the pups to be roans,they are gorgeous! xxx
