I love this forum - everyone has been so helpful with suggestions, and I'm so happy Rusty is settling in well now. Quick question - How much should I be playing with him. I try to play a game whenever he's awake, but if I sit down to do some work he curls up next to me and sleeps. This means thought that I keep working and he sleeps a lot during the day. Is that right? I want him to keep sleeping well at night, should I play as much as possible during the day, allowing him the rest periods he chooses to have? Or is it good that he recognises sometimes he has to settle down if I'm doing something else? I don't want him to get bored! It's hard finding new games to keep him interested before we can get out walking after his vaccinations!

Thank you!

your pup need to fit round your work, he sounds perfict, he knows that your working so he sleep, that last thing you want is him pestering you when your busy. my girls learnt to sleep when we sit down, same as when we are doing something in the house, but we normaly have to put them in another room, lol then tend to all 4 of them selttle down to sleep right behind us, so if we are clearing a cupbored out, we tur round and trip over one or all of them.

so i would just carry on with what your doing.

is he sleeping ok at night just now. if not then just play a wee bit more before bed time.

Sami eats grass all the time .... I tried to distract him also, but the more attention I call to this, the more he is interested in eating it! So I just ignore it and it does not seem to have caused any harm. He will occasionally pick up pieces of dirt (Gerogia red clay) and eats that as well. If I start towards him he just runs . . so its fruitless. Don't know why they do this? He has a very good appetite for his food, so thats not the problem.
