Hello...
My lovely boy is a cocker spaniel cross minature poodle, he is from Woody's Poodles in Walsall, i have posted a picture of him in the gallery.
Just after some general advice really on how to stop him nipping at my hands when a little excited, bless him, as he can be quite boisterous.
Thank you
Lauren & Teddy

Hi Lauren and Teddy! Welcome to the forum. :)

When Teddy mouths you during play you will need to act like a mother dog would and let him know that it was too hard. When it happens say 'ouch' and stop play. If it continues then a short time out in another room/hall way is a good idea. Teddy wont want to be seperated from you and will soon learn that the fun stops if he bites. It is very normal behaviour and he will learn if you are consistent. I used to say 'Ouch' even if I felt Daisy's teeth on my hand and she soon learnt. :) Do you have any books on puppy training? I believe that the Gwen Bailey Perfect puppy book is popular or you could try Ian Dunbar - Before and after getting a puppy. Please also feel free to check out our Owners Club website which has a variety of advice on all things Cockapoo. :) http://www.cockapoo-owners-club.org.uk/

Is the cocker spaniel an English or American? & if English is it show/working?
I will go & have a look at a picture now :)
Tbh the nipping is a thing puppies do & they do grow out of it after they get their adult teeth, but do make sure you firmly tell him 'no' & remove his mouth from your arm or hand etc... Just so that he doesn't learn that it is okay to bite/nip in the future.
But mainly it's just a waiting game :/ They tend to nip more when they get excited as well, like when you come home from leaving them or something. Good luck!
