We picked up our new Cockapoo, Cosmo, today. He's such a doll. But we want him to walk nicely on a leash when he's grown up. We tried walking just around the house today - if we wanted Cosmo to follow us at all on the leash, we would have to drag him across the floor - he only followed us when it suited him. We're trying not to let him become the dominant dog, but we do really want to leash-train him. Also, he dislikes the Ms. Hubbard treats. What other treat suggestions do you all have?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

how old is he? is theis your first dog?

give him a week to settle before u start trying to traine him. he has just been taken from his mum and litter mates, he is with people he doesnt know, in a place he doesnt know, with lost of new smells.

at the moment just focus on him being a puppy, get a bond built up with him, play with him cuddle him. just let him learn where he is and its a safe place for him.

as for treats dont go for anything crunchy, go for something soft like chopped up hot dog, small bits of cheese or livercake. something that he doesnt have to chew on.

good luck let us know how you get on.
