Hi I just wanted to introduce our new Cockapoo puppy Lottie who we have had for 3 weeks now, she is just adorable and we are all mad about her - when she's not nipping us.
We have been so lucky she only cried for 3 nights and as soon as we put a blanket over the cage she stopped. She waits patiently for us to get up in the morning.
I found some really useful things on this website and have now started a log so we can see a pattern and routine. No accidents inside for 2 days now - although my husband did stay up until 230am  something I wont be doing lol !

Any other useful tips greatly appreciated !

We had a stair gate until they were house trained, it just helped limit where they could go !!
LOL Actually have a gate at the top now to stop them going into teenage boys bedrooms ( they're the only ones that would - no humans want to visit !! ). Always worth a visit to find a mouldy crust or two :D

Hi Claire,

Welcome :welcome:

Lottie is a little stunner – you can really see the ‘working’ Cocker in her which I just love!

I have a 15 week old apricot Cockapoo called Saffi who is from English working lines. I was happy to get an apricot or a chocolate – my boyfriend Marcus desperately wanted a paler one. Has he washed her once?! NO! I sometimes allow myself to daydream about getting a second… a chocolate one!

We have a puppy gate at the bottom of the stairs – it’s a real hassle but we’ll keep it in place until our cats are 100% ok with Saffi being around and secondly when we know 100% that she won’t have an accident upstairs. Not sure when that will be…

Look forward to reading more about lovely Lottie!

Awwwww gorgeous :) she's adorable.

I have a stair gate.. I recently let my boy upstairs however he loves to 'toilet' on the carpets up there.. I have wooden floor downstairs and I think it confuses him lol!! I am sure he thinks the toilet training rules don't include up there!! I prefer leaving him downstairs when I am dressing/showering etc as I know he is safe as also I wouldn't want to keep putting him in his crate.. X
