I have been considering going to RAW feeding after lots of research and chatting to other RAW feeders but due to sourcing of food and freezer space have decided at present to stick to kibble with a couple of RAW evening meals.

Well I did want to trial Monty on some RAW to see if it made any impact with his paw chewing and ears. I found that Prize choice frozen minces were available locally to me yay!!!

So yesterday I bought him some rabbit, chicken and turkey minces and two tripe ( Tripe was very Berriwoods). Last night they had chicken wings.

This morning I gave Monty 200g of the rabbit mince but Moogie had her usual Barking Heads and yoghurt. As usual both wolfed down in seconds and luckily Moogie didn't noticed that Monty had something different!!! Phew

So there was I all chuffed that I got away with it and no hissy fit from madam- only to find that despite the back door open and despite her being a good girl there was a nice large puddle by the door mat

I think that is called Moogies revenge :D:D

Thanks :)

The problem going full RAW is cost and freezer space.

It costs me 82p per day to feed both mine on Barking Heads and Yoghurt ( plus extra for their chicken wings once a week- but I do get free lamb rib bones which they get once a week)

I do know of a few companies who will supply but would have to factor in delivery costs as well.

How cheeky of Milly! ;)

Do let us know how Monty gets on. I needed freezer space aswell and bough a little 'under the counter' size chest freezer for £120. It is perfect but obviously you need to find somewhere to put it?

That's good Sarah. Where was that from?

We are getting another freezer. We are getting rid of our ancient dishwasher as we don't use it and it can go in that space.

I need more space not just for the dogs!!

Mine liked Barking Heads... dont you fancy making your own ????

Not sure
It's getting the stuff as well as butchers are not like they used to be- most just do basic stuff and pre-packed.

If we don't see any improvement on Monty's trial- I think we will stick with Barking Heads and RAW ( not together at same time).

I'm going to do a thread on 'BARF on a budget' soon - just need to photograph my next batch of veggie glop .....mmmmmnnn!
Oh yes please. Wilfiboy also does DIY barf as well I think. I have a local butcher who can supply chicken carcasses but would know what else to put with it and in what ratio.

Oh yes I would be interested in both Karen and Karen’s homemade BARF please ..

I have been considering trying Barking Head (as I mentioned on another forum) ... as I want to find a food I am totally happy with for my own dogs and food I would feel happy to wean pups onto if we have any ??? Also I want to be very confident in this diet and let any new puppy owners know all about it... so I am looking for a change ..
