Lucca is now 5 months old and for a while has been having 'urges'! Today he was getting jiggy with a friendly staffie who wasn't in the least bit concerned. She has been done anyway so no problem, but it got me wondering how old a puppy could be before he starts to be capable of actually 'doing the deed' rather than just 'play-humping'! I plan to have him neutered as soon as he is old enough but obviously don't want to have any problems in the meantime . Should I be more watchful?

I have been wondering the same thing. Benji is a humper! Especially his soft toys and this afternoon a lovely male miniature poodle. We will be spending Xmas with my sister-in-law who has a female boarder terrier puppy. They will both be 6 months old. Could they potentially mate? Eek!

Ollie had to be neutered at 9 months as he was obsessed, even to the point of chasing the ladies out of the park :0
