Hi Everyone, just been advised of this site by the breader of my cockapoo - Bailey.

I have a problem and wondered if anyone else is experiencing the same thing? Bailey is 3 1/2 and has constant problems with his ears - infection after infection. He is on a prescription diet at the moment and I've been advised to start him on a BARF diet - has anyone tried this?

hey welcome, does he have hair in his ears, if so how often are they plucked.

do you take him swimming ?

an excellent ear cleaner is quistle you warm the bottle in watter then flood the ear with the solution and squige the ear if you get whet i mean, so you hear the liquid squelch.

a raw food diet may well help if it is an allergy to wheat or additives in commercial pet foods. how ever with most allergy's ling this you find issues with paws and other arias of skin too. test him out for a week on some raw meat from the super market. cheep mince, chicken wings rib bones etc.

Lolly had quite a bit of ear trouble when she was younger. We use Canal Aural on her as advised by members here and our vets and I'm amazed at how good it is. We started off using it daily and now instead of having to clean her ears daily and finding loads of gunk  I just have to use it once a week and clean once a week too.

Hi Chris,
Kendal's suggestion is a good one, as the barf diet may or may not benefit Bailey's ear condition. However it will certainly be a great diet for him anyway. Lots of us on this forum are barf enthusiasts and if you put barf into the search box you will find a lot of information and discussion threads on it. If you want an easy introduction to barf, many of us feed Natural Instinct which is a ready-prepared barf diet delivered to your door frozen.

Or you could do your own DIY diet which is generally based on chicken wings/carcasses plus other ingredients to balance it. If you do it this way then it is important to do the research to get it right.
Hope you manage to solve Bailey's ear problems.
