Hey everyone,
I've decided to make a thread to ask everyone up North where abouts they're from, the cockapoo names & the breeder they're from :)
I'm in Yorkshire, Leeds area to be exact, so would love to know how many pups are quite local to me & some that may be a little further afield.
You could post a picture of your pup as well if you all have a favourite :D
Thanks for all who read this thread & reply :)

Hi Laura

I live East Coast Yorkshire purchased a chocolate boy 3 weeks ago from Pickering Breeder only two in the litter the other buyer has given backword on the little girl so I have decided to take both as I know it will break my heart to serarate them being only the two of them bonding together for 8 weeks they are like twins exact same colour & markings. Mum leaves them to go work in the fields & the pups just huddle together & never cry
Mum is a KC reg choc cocker spaniel & dad is a KC reg Red Phantom toy poodle so hoping for two cute puppies:) born 11 Sept
Not sure if I have bought double trouble but my heart tells my head to go for it;) I am about to retire so have plenty of time to spend with them

Any advise will be welcome:confused:

Oh wow that's very nice of you! :) I have heard it can be difficult getting two at the same time but I can understand why you've done it! I'm sure you will get on fine, we ended up getting our Izzie because mum was retiring on ill health a little earlier than expected so decided to finally go for it :D Now Poppy is on the was as well & we're very happy.
My mum and dad actually go away to Filey in the caravan a lot with Izzie so she can play on the beach! I have been to stay with them once or twice as I can drive myself there and back if I can only go for a couple of days, so we may meet you & your 2 pups sometime? Or my parents might at least? :)
Keep an eye out for Izzie ;) I met one other cockapoo in Filey (a black one a bit older than Izzie), I can't remember her name :/ Maisie I think & my mum met them again a couple of weeks ago in the same area :)

I can't really give advice on 2 puppies together atm... But when I get Poppy (in about 4 weeks time) I may be able to give a few pointers to help, do you have both your pups at home now then? Good luck! :D

siblings

Had replies from other owners who have said not a good idea as they only bond with each and not the owner need to be trained separately and will eventually fight & hurt each other and be aggressive toward me when I need to separate them
Does not sound good for me or the pups so may have to wait for the next litter for a companion please let me know your progress with Poppy
I bring home Milo 6 Nov
Which caravan park are your parents at I work at Blue Dolphin

Oh that's fair enough then, there's always time to get a second pup when Milo gets a little older :) Izzie will be 1 tomorrow, & Poppy will be coming home the end of October, the breeder we got them both from said 1 year old was a good time to introduce a second :)
I bet you're very excited! Just over a month :D Erm :| Where they stay there are two right next to each other, not much of a walk to the beach, I think it's the one next to Muston Grange, if you know what that's called :|

That may be their names, I asked my mum she said it's called centenary way :)
Just a nice quiet one, not too big doesn't have a swimming pool like yours looks like it has, yes keep a look out :) We will have a fully grown (but still not too big) apricot/cream girl & then a red puppy (also a girl) probably the next time they visit :)
But they love it there, they keep going back! :D

Hi Laura,

I have just been reading this thread as I am going to see some new pups this evening to meet them with a view of getting a second. My current dog Eric will be 1 year old at the end of October and the new pup would be ready to bring home at the begining of Novemver.

I have however been starting to have slight second thoughts though about getting the second. I love my little Eric so much and am worried about upsetting his balance by brining in a new Pup.

Can i ask about Izzie's temprament? As i am interested if you have any concerns about socialising the 2 together and how you intend to introduce the 2 if they have not already been introduced.

Any info you or any one else can give me would be great.

Thanks
Sara

Hi Sara :)
Right well Izzie's temperment I think is perfect for a second pup, basically she LOVES playing with any dog she sees and any person she sees, she's very friendly & very sociable. My mum said when she took her out a couple of days ago there were some dogs at the other side of the beck, she couldn't get to them to play so she was crying staring at them. She seems to get on with any dog that she is allowed to play with :) So we felt that a little sister for her would be perfect as she would always have someone to play with & she'd love it :D
I understand what you mean about not wanting to upset him, but in my opinion all you need to do is make sure you still show lots of attention to Eric as well as the new pup, or have one each if there's others in the house? That way Eric won't feel left out & the new pup will still get the attention he/she needs :)
I hope that helps? Lots of people on here have 2 dogs or a view to get a second, one member has 4, so I think if you feel like your dog could handle a second pup & you would like one then go for it :) But it's your choice & I wish you luck in deciding :D

Sara we wanted to get a second dog cos wilf was so lovely but kept putting it off incase we made a mistake and like you say upset the balance, we bit the bullet and brought Mbale home last Nov and everytings been fine another lovely cockapoo. They did nt meet until we brought Mable home, we took Wilf out then put Mable in a crate and when Wilf came home let him "find" her, the idea is to get all excited about what they have found, then when you are happy let the pup out and supervise play. They played happily all evening.

Sue Im glad your breeder has nt let you have 2 pups its very responsible of them and obviously they've explained why... you can always go back for no.2 at a later date x x
