Pee pee's

Oh my... What a day. We were doing so well but..... Today we have had 3 pee's on the floor not even near the training pads. She does her poo's on the pads everytime but for some reason the pee pee's didn't make it today.

On the up side. Lola can fetch, recall, sit and wait on demand, she is dry and clean all night. Hopefully she will control her bladder next..

Tell me im being too harsh and expecting too much...

Thank you for the reassurance!!!!!! :D
Lola sounds like she's progressing really well. Do you have an outside space she can toilet on? That can make it quicker and easier to toilet train as there's a clear difference to going outside. However, the pees on the floor are very normal at this age and you will probably get accidents for a little while yet.
Thank you. Yeh we have a good garden. She does go out there but not every time also she doesn't seem to have a preference yet. All advice welcome as usual..
Yea they all have accidents sometimes but i agree with Jane it is easier if you just get her to do her business outside on the grass.
At that age i would take Buddy out every hour on the hour and use a command (wee, wee) and treat when he'd done it ,i know its hard latley as theres been so many rainy days but it is alot easier in the long run and you dont really want her to get used to doing her business in the house rather then outside.
Also, we have had her 2weeks tomorrow. She has been dry through the night since the third night or so. Last night however she cried at around 4.30 (she normally sleeps through) we went down and she had peed on her bed :eek: she loves her crate in the evenings and is usually so snugly when we go down in the mornings. Does anyone leave crate open at night? I am reluctant to start leaving it open as I want her to toilet at night and in the morning, but I also don't want her to have to pee on her bed. I feel guilty...
It's still very early days...toilet training ( or any kind of training for the matter) can be a case of one step forwards two steps back. It sounds like Lola is doing really well and learning very quickly ( much quicker than some)..she just needs a little more time. Some dogs can take up to a year before the are 100% reliable in the house.
Thanks. The support is really useful. :)
It sounds like you're doing great with Lola.:)

My pup Toffee is 12 weeks, he's been with me for two and I'm having the same two steps forward one step back atm.

He was paper trained really quickly but then started going absolutely anywhere. For a while there I felt I had a roll of kitchen towel permanently attached to one hand and a deodourising spray attached to the other.

I'd paper trained him as he was nervous of the garden at first but for the past couple of days I've been taking him out every hour and after play, sleep, food etc and it's going really well. (I do have my fingers crossed as I'm writing this btw). :D

I think I'll bring out the big guns (tiny bits of cooked chicken breast) to make sure he doesn't go backwards again.

Lets hope both Lola and Toffee just move forwards from here on in.

You are not on your own with Pee Pee ..

My puppy is 3 months old today (hope I got that right Colin, I kept getting confused and Colin had to help me with dates) ... she had one accident yesterday even with the back door open ... grrr ... tip dont worry about it, clean it up and keep giving over the top praise for pee pee in the right area :) they do get there in the end ...

My puppy is good at sit, working on Down command with high value treats, walking well on the lead (but that may all change) .. and oh she loves a cuddle ... xxx

Happy puppy days xxx

Thanks everyone.. No accidents so far today. Here's to Lola and Toffee!!!
Well yesterday was very successful.. No accidents. All pee's/poo's on pads or outside. However, 4.30 am she started crying and when I went down she had wet her bed again. I just don't understand because nothing has changed with routine (she loves her crate at night) and for 2 weeks there she was dry all night. What is causing her to pee in her bed all of a sudden? Would it be a possibility to leave crate open at night to allow her to use the puppy pads?

I am lost at what way to take this forward...

Thanks,
Ruth.
