Hi, I'm feeding 8 week old Kirby redmills I'v heard its very good but wondering if you could take a look and tell me what you think, he also has tear stain so after reading posts on here about it have decided to give him bottled water and have also bought Tear stain-um we'll see how we go with that.

Hi, it looks good to me, with the meat being the first named ingredient and decent grains. Give it a go and see how he gets on.
Red mills are good, I have used for many years for racing greyhounds.
Good luck with the tear stains :)

I have read about bottled water helping tear staining ... I have a light coloured cockapoo and have experienced no tear staining ... if you do give the water a go please let us know how you get on ...

Ref food I am a Barking Head fan (Puppy Days)...

also great info here on raw feeding by Mandy (Embee)

You can change your puppies foods but maybe good to wait until he is settled into his new home and do it gradually not to upset his tummy ...

Keep us posted xxx

High mineral content in some tap water causes the staining (around the dog's beard also and sometimes on other parts of their face) so the theory is that the bottled water doesn't contain this high level. However, other things can cause excessive tearing which encourages the bacteria to thrive there, such as diet and allergies, etc. It's all a case of trial and error but have heard good reports about bottled water.
