Question for those feeding NI

George is constantly hungry and I am sure he could eat the whole tub if I would let him. Does anyone else have this problem. He has had his allowance today (plus a little bit more) and half a chicken wing and he's still barking for more!

i would say if you think he could do with a little more and he isnt too chunkie them give him more. its not like with dry food, set amount every day, if they have had a busy day they may need more food than a day where they have just pottered about the house.

because their are no granes in raw food, it dosent exspand in their tummys the wat dry Food does.

this is another reason i feed frozen they have to work for their dinner spening time chewing it rather than just gulping it down in seconds. my girls have a sniff about just to check the others haven left anything, then they go and sleep.

thanks Kendal, he certainly isn't chunky. He can be very active had a good play on the beach today) then he has a real long snooze. I was just bothered that I could over feed him. Do you feed NI Kendal. Just another question can lamb rib bones make them a bit loose
Yes Flo is just the same! She loves NI and would eat lots more than we give her I'm sure. Her favourite spot is next to the fridge!! We a sticking to the guidelines (plus a bit) and she is putting on weight but not too quickly! I have tried a few other tastes too! She loves fish, chilcken wings, apple and most veg so far. Actally not sure we would find anything she wouldn't like!! We are definately going to stick with NI and continue to try other tastes.
Wendy and Greedy Little Flo!!
no with raw feeding you asses the dogs condition, feeling the ribs you want a thin lair of fat over the ribs, with Gypsys she has a bit of fat and no more, that dog just doesnt put on weight she is much more poodle, where as Echo is more spanial and i have to watch her wight as she is a little too ****** at the moment, Inca and Delta are more or less perfect.

puppies can aford to have more food.

George is just the same Wendy. He loves NI and chicken wings and lamb rib bones, just can't get enough of it all
Haven't tried lamb rib bones yet! I feel a trip to the butcher coming on!! Just one thing we did try by the way, was to give Flo her dinner in her kong. This did take her a little longer to eat but gave her tremendous hiccoughs!!!
Wendy and Flo
Thanks Kendal and Wendy. I am going to give him a bit more he is quite lean but putting on weight ok I think .We have had him 3 weeks now and he was 2.88kg and he is now 3.6kg. He has got taller and longer but not fatter

lol thats the same with kids they get taller before they fill out, he will look realy lanky for a bit with gangly legs lol
Thanks Kendal, didn't want to do any harm by over feeding but he really must be hungry.
Izzy's the same Jayne, a wee piggie, she's also grown, but not out the way! I gave her a lamb rib - she was a bit constipated after, not loose!
Daisy is just the same, very lean but not skinny but she would just keep eating whatever I gave her! She loves lamb breast bones and they take her longer to eat than chicken wings which is great! :) I have a couple of hearts in the freezer but I was going to wait another week of chicken and lamb before I gave her anything new. I have been lucky with my butcher who is happy to save me the bits I need on a friday when they get their carcasses in. He is not as cheap as some people seem to get but I am happy and think he gives me good value. Combined with the NI I hope I am giving her a varied diet. :)
Pushca woofs her NI and I feel as if she needs more. I do give her the odd treat but she is always on constant alert for more food.
So it is okay to give more? Or is she just greedy? How do I know?
Millie was quite scrawny when she was a tiny puppy. I think it was more to do with her not enjoying her kibble food.

Since putting her on NI, 2 months ago now, she's gained weight nicely and is filling out. Previously her ribs were easy to feel and also her hips were quite boney. I can still feel her ribs but just so. She eats all that I give her but doesn't ask for more. However, I do quite a bit of training with her so she gets extra food that way.
I think they like NI so much they would just keep eating it. Obi would if he could! I've felt his ribs and I'm happy to stick to 5% of his weight and no more. He does get dried liver and chicken treats when training and out walking for recall.
