I recently purchased a Cockpoo 7 months old from a guy who did not groom the dog. As her, fur/wool was very matted, she is a very beautiful and playfull dog. However, I notice she is fearful of new people and it takes time for her to warm up to anyone new. A friend of mind was going to pat her down a she started to shake and back away. Now when I am home, I cannot move the dog just likes to follow me and cuddle and I also have a 8 yr old Lab and they get along great. When I took her to the groomer he shaved her right down and now does not even look like the same dog and I live in Canada so the cold weather is preventing her from wanting to go outside. How long will it take her wool to grow back and it was curly will it come back the same way. She was really enjoying the snow until she was shaved.

hey welcome, the fur will grow back in no time and the curls will posible be more curly than before. get him a coat and get out with him, you need to build up his confidance. look and see if their are any training classes near you, its good for bonding but will also help him become more confidant round people and dogs.

Freddy was also "shaved" quite short on his first cut as he had terrible matts that had just got too much for me to keep on top of (I won't make that same mistake again!) He was cut in October and I would say by January he had a normal/nice coat again.

His coat grew back the same way. He has quite tight curls on the bottom half of his body and the top half is just wavy :D

I agree with the others about getting a dog coat, I think the temperatures where you are, are more extreme than here in the UK.

Oooo she'll seem like a new dog when her coat comes back through, and if you keep on top of it it should nt be a problem. Great that she gets on with your other dog andwill probably take notice of him/her in situations. Im sure if you up the socialising she'll be a quick learner she obviously trusts you already. Maybe get new comers to offer her treats, so that its a pleasurable experience for her.Get that coat and enjoy your outings and hope spring hurries up and gets warmer for you x x

Ah lucky little pup to have you! Do Get a coat and get out socialising. I think that breed is naturally timid even tho they are so friendly and happy to be around people. Pushca still gets upset and squeals if she's worried
Just lots of reassurance and love and you'll be fine
