Hello everyone! I've been browsing this forum for a little while now and thought it was high time I introduced myself and my beautiful Cockapoo, Rufus.

Rufus is nearly two years old. He was born on 21st July 2009 and is a Jukee Doodle! His mum is the beautiful Pearl and his dad is Jukee's first stud poodle, Pinot.
I do agility with Rufus twice a week and he is showing a lot of promise. We've not done any competitions outside of our club yet .......just need to get those weaves sorted! He's quite a big boy for a Cockapoo and has been measured as 'large' for competitions. I think daddy Pinot was on the larger side!
I am absolutely hooked on the news coming from JD about their new litters ....is it tonight that we are hearing about Pearl's new litter (Rufus' half brothers and sisters)?
It won't be long before we'll be looking for a lovely little girl to join Rufus. Are you taking deposits yet for next summer JD?!!
Oh, I am Karen by the way. x

Hi Karen,Rufus is such a lovely colour, what is that colour called? Dark blonde? X
Yes, dark blonde. When we chose Rufus he was pretty much the colour of his ears all over. His body lightened as he matured. Interestingly he is almost the double of his father Pinot.

Here's Pinot - with a white stripe on his chest he'd look just like Rufus!

Hi Karen

Rufus is indeed very handsome! We are hopefully soon to get a JD pup and if she is as nice as Rufus we will have done very well.
I like his coat length, I assume you have it clipped? This will be very new territory for us; what kind of clip would Rufus's be called.

We've had plenty of dogs but never long haired and I know our JRT will take her swimming into a river or bog pond at the first opportunity! That scares me a little. A natural clip may be the answer.

Hi Gemma,

Rufus goes to a groomer about every 8 - 10 weeks and has a scissor cut. His groomer is very experienced and I just described what I wanted, and more importantly what I did not want and hey presto! I think some people call it a 'teddy bear' cut? or 'puppy' cut?

I love the long shaggy look but I have to be practical. I do agility with Rufus and most walks involve water! It's so important to keep up the brushing and combing - I have seen some awful photos of doodles having been shaved because of matting. The slightly shorter cut makes life a little easier and I can keep on top of the grooming.

Bet you are excited about your new little girl. Keep us posted!

Hiya

Hi Karen,

Well Rufus looks a million dollars. He is beautifully trimmed too, hang on to you're groomer, they are very skilled. I have responded to your post on our puppy reveal thread and posted some pictures of Rufus's close family.
