Had such a horrendous evening! Pareto caught his tail in the door.... there was blood everywhere, up the walls and I was covered! Poor pup was crying... and I was panicking! Thankfully the vet hadn't closed & by the time we got there I'd managed to stop the bleeding. He had to have antibiotics & painkillers but luckily it doesn't look too bad. Fingers crossed, got to take him back next week.

My poor sister-in-law rang a few months ago to tell me that her double glazed back door had slammed shut, chopping the end off of her Greyhound's tail! Lots of blood as you can imagine but she lived to tell the tale .....or should that be tail?!!

Feeling so much better today. After the initial shock had worn off Pareto was back to his normal lovely self... Took me a bit longer, aided by wine! The vet didn't bandage it, as he said it'd be difficult to keep it on, plus pu would probably mess with it more and be bothered by it than if it was left unbandaged. So far so good, he's still as waggy as ever, and not really messing with his tail. So staying hopeful that next week's examination goes well.

Glad Pareto (and you) are ok. A friends dog cuts his tail somehow and she posted the pictures on Facebook of the mess in her kitchen, it looked like a whole family had been massacred as he'd been wagging his tail spraying blood everywhere!! When they saw what he'd actually done to his tail it was next to nothing but the amount of blood looked do much worse!!!

I hope Pareto is feeling ok today!

Yep Jules, it looked like a hammer horror film! My boyfriend arrived home, having received my call crying that Pareto was hurt so I was heading to the vets, and was horrified by th blood! I think he thought pup was a gonner!

Oh well, these things are sent to drive us crazy And all is well now... just heading off to have a lovely walk in the countryside
