Hubby took Oakley for a walk this morning around the village as usual. We always take him on lead & "rein him in" when other people & dogs are approaching as he is very playful & still learning not to jump up.

As they turned a corner there was a sudden shout of "watch out!" & a JR came rushing up (off lead) & without warning grabbed Oakley on the backside. He let out a yelp & Hubby picked up Oakley with the JR still hanging on & was about to kick it into touch when it let go. The owner came up apologising & Hubby told him in no uncertain terms that it's no good just shouting warnings, his uncontrollable dog should be on the lead & probably muzzled. He took the man's details & told him that if Oakley needed any vet treatment then he would be footing the bill. The man scurried away & after ringing me & checking Oakley over, Hubby continued the walk.

Luckily it hasn't phased Oakley & he has quite happily greeted other dogs during today & he doesn't appear to have any broken skin.........I'm just thankful that his coat is quite long & shaggy!!!

Nightmare! So glad Oakly is unharmed tho. I had to do the scoop the girls thing earlier today as a staffie cross was heading our way and it didnt look friendly and its owner was having kittens.

Why dont they just keep dogs that arent friendly on leads?

:( Although Vincent has never been biten we often come across owners that can't control their dogs. Mostly they just chase Vincent, and he doesn't mind so much as he loves to be chased. But sometimes, happened today, the dog gets really rough and teethy :( Vincent gets freaked out and tries to run off making the situation worse!
It's so annoying, the owners don't seem to realise that yes I have Vincent off the lead but that doesn't mean he won't get scared!!

I'm glad Oakley is ok and not hurt!
