Just thought i'd show a picture of our hoover & the girls sat on my knee using me as protection!

Izzie especially is terrified of it Will get a video of Izzie later when the hoover is out to prove her fear of it... You can kind of see the fear in her eyes in the picture.

I'll attach it to the comment later, keep an eye out! :)

lol Griff is the opposite he loves the hoover and just barks and tries to bite it , in fact it makes hoovering very difficult, thank goodness I only have carpets on the staircase and wooden floors elsewhere or I would be spending my life trying to hoover :D
lol Lady also tries to attack it and barks like crazy....it is very hard to vacuum or sweep

Well I can imagine that makes things difficult! I'm glad Izzie is scared then haha, although I think it's my sisters fault she's terrified ;) She didn't really like the hoover as a pup, but a couple of times when Izzie was naughty Lucy would follow her with the hoover haha, so now she really doesn't like it. I will get a video later to prove it, just jumps around like a mad woman! & it sounds quite cruel but it wasn't meant to be, we just knew she'd be good when the hoover came out :)
Anyone know how to help with Hoover fear? Maggie shakes and wets the floor every time it is out. I have tried leaving it out all day, putting treats on it giving her treats while it is on and nothing seems to help. Any advice would be appreciated. Emma x
Vincent initially didn't like the hoover at all and once hid under the coffee table and wee'd all over himself....but now he really doesn't care!
We left the hoover on in the front room and let Vincent go up to it and see for himself that it wasn't scary. We even used a 'Rug Doctor' carpet cleaner, which if anyone else has used they make a MASSIVE roaring noise, and Vincent just didn't care and just kept trying to sit in front of it!
Betty used to try to attack the hoover too. I put her on her lead and walked
very slowly around the room with the hoover in one hand and her in the other... I only did it a couple of time and she now only has the occasional bark.
I'm not sure if the was ''correct'' but it certainly worked ( very quickly) for me.
I haven't found a way of her not try to attack(she is only playing) the feather duster yet tho:D:D
Sorry Emma I can't help with that, Izzie hates the hoover, but she has never wee'd herself :S
I'm not sure if Poppy actually seems to mind it or not, she will just sit on my knee & watch it, whereas Izzie will freak out & run away if it comes close!
Rupert's always been very suspicious of the hoover, follows it round looking anxious. After all my reassurance his worst fears were realised the other day when the flippin thing blew up! So he was right after all...

Haha, poor Rupert! Them big evil things ;) We have some evil appliances in this world! Izzie isn't too keen on the hairdryer generally either lol
Dexter hates the hoover and runs and hides when it comes out the cupboard. It's a Henry and I even tried covering the top in treats and pulling it slowly round the floor while they fell off slowly saying "look he wants to be your friend", Dexter just looked at me like I was nuts and I realised that he was probably right. I now rush round like a manic hoovering as quickly as possible to get it over and done with.
Haha Alison I loved that! He thinks your crazy :) We used to have a Henry hoover years ago, I liked that it had a face on it :D Haha. I still haven't videoed her reaction yet! I really need to do that tomorrow to prove it :)
Flo used to bark at 'Henry' a lot - I think she thought I was being attacked by him. I 'cured' her by letting Henry give her cheese treats (just kept putting lots of small pieces of cheese on him for her to go and get. I also just left him sitting round the house so she got used to him being around :D

You have just made me laugh so loudly! Sorry!
