Hey, hoping for some tips and advice to give our new pup the best start!

We pick our little boy up this week but it will be a 1.5hr drive home and I’m looking for advice for the journey. I’m hoping on my knee is ok but could take the crate if the knee is a big no no? What essentials do I need to take? Puppy pad, blankets, poop bags, toy, treats.
In an ideal world he’ll be taken to the toilet
before the journey and we’ll go straight to the garden when we arrive home but I know it’s not going to work out like that haha

Cheers

In the US, it is required by law a dog is restrained in the car. We had ours in a carrier, seat-belted into the back seat. My mother in law sat back there because the poor thing was terrified. Everything he had known in his whole life was suddenly gone. She comforted him and took him on her lap once or twice during the drive. It was also about and hour and a half. We didn't make any potty stops and he was ok. The breeder gave me a blanket that had the scent of his littermates and we draped it over the crate. I didn't bring toys or treats.
