Last week I found out from a dog owning friend of mine that our local council run a voluntary dog registration scheme for free.

By signing up you receive an identity tag from them which you attach to your dogs collar. Should your dog escape and be picked up by the dog warden they will return your dog to you, day or night! :) I believe that if you are not registered your dog will be taken to the kennel and you will then have to pay costs!

I thought this was a great scheme and just wanted to share with you all incase your own local councils ran anything similar. :D

Thats sounds great... I would nt have thought mine will, they are bringing in no dogs off lead in public parks and grass areas... we are being banished to moor land. Some people wont be able to get there without transport,its a real shame x

Oh what a shame, that is terrible! :( What has caused them to make that decision? :(

Which council is that?
If we are all smart we email our councils and local mps.
I would guess it's on your council website, we just copy and paste and send on. 
I am under Cherwell District Council;

Although it says you can collect from the office they will actually deliver your dog if picked up and has a tag on, or so the local warden told me! :) I just like the idea that they know who I am and will contact me straight away. Daisy hasn't escaped but Peter tells me she has started to dig at the side of our garden gate! :eek:
