Hello, I am a new member - I am so excited to joining you as we picked a lovely chocolate brown girl yesterday and will be hopefully bringing her home next Thursday when she is 7 weeks old. I have tried to attach a photo, hope it works...
I have been lurking here for a while ever since we decided to definitely decided to get a Cockapoo Pup and picked up loads of handy advice however after reading some recent posts I am getting bit anxious about her first few nights with us.
We are getting a crate for her to use downstairs in the day but I am planning to put her bed and paper/pads in a large cardboard box (left open at the top) next to our bed upstairs at night. My reasoning is that I want her near us for reassurance and also it's going to be a hassle to move a large crate every night - am I just being lazy?!
We are planning to have her sleep in her bed on our bedroom floor or landing floor anyway once she is older, so not planning to move her downstairs to be alone at night anyway in a few weeks if you see what I mean.
Do you think this will work or will she get confused sleeping in a crate in the day and upstairs in a 'box' at night? Perhaps I am over-analysing this...
