If I was broken down on the motorway my puppies toilet needs would be the least of my worries! Get yourself family and puppy well back behind the crash barrier the hard shoulder is the most dangerous place to be. Your recovery service should have told you to get as far away from the car as possible.

we got home safely thanks to the great tow truck driver and i just held her and hoped for the best - we were told to keep well away from car - where i broke down was a very dangerous place. at least her socialisation of cars was done by implosion therapy a busy motorway on rush hour traffic would make any road near my house heaven She was fab just a bit of a stressful day for her - 2nd injections, microchipping and then a millions fast cars blasting past her xx

I am glad to hear you all got home safely.
As I understand it the reason we dont take our new puppies out until they have been immunised, is only to protect them against the consequences of meeting a dog that has not been immunised.
I suspect the chances of that happening behind a motorway crash barrier is minimal.
