Hi everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself & the new addition to the family, Wicket the cockapoo puppy. He's now 9 weeks old & has been living with us since last thursday. This is my very first dog, but my husband has always had dogs in his family & I finally gave in to having one! Not that I dislike dogs, love them to bits, but I'm allergic to them! Normally within a few minutes of being in close proximity of a dog I'm a sniffling, eye-watering wreck. So after a bit of research we decided that a Cockapoo might be an ideal option for us.

We contacted a local breeder who was more than happy to let us come & meet some of her Cockapoo's, to see how my allergic reaction would be. I came away with only minor irritation, so when she had a new litter of puppies we decided to go for it.

Wicket is gradually settling in to his new home, & of course his new mum & dad! I'm amazed how quickly he's progressed in his toilet training, and of course he's incredibly cute!

So I was a little sniffly to start with, but I put that down to the breeder giving him a bath on the day of collection, loosening any hair that he was about to shed.

Really looking forward to see how he develops over time & hope I can count on other members to give me some advice when I need it in the future with me being a complete dog novice! Dog Mammal Vertebrate Dog breed Canidae

Hello and welcome to you both!

Wicket looks lovely and it is great to hear that he is settling in so well. I hope your allergies continue to be ok. As an allergy sufferer myself it is a worry but thankfully Daisy doesn't effect me.

You will find lots of great advice on the forum and we are always happy to help and share our Cockapoo stories.

I look forward to hearing more about Wicket (fab name btw!).

Hi & welcome!

I hope your allergies don't cause any problems :) Lots of people on here say hey are allergic to dogs & that they either aren't affected or that after a couple of weeks they have gotten used to it & it no longer bothers them etc.

What cocker x poodle cross is Wicket? He's gorgeous :)

Thank you all for the Welcome's!

Yes, Wicket's name is from Star Wars! :)

He is an F2, both parents are cockapoo's. Mum is an apricot colour, with Dad a sable. Wicket is mainly a champagne kind of colour, with apricot ears & tail, & flecks of cream here & there, so we'll have to wait & see how his adult fur develops. :)
