Hey everyone,
Haven't been on the forum much recently but really appreciate words of wisdom on my Harley boy.
He's just 10 months now, and the most sociable little boy you could ever meet. And that's probably most of my worry. He's going to daycare 5 days a week due to building works at home - we always knew he would need to go 3 days due to my job. The place he goes is just a family home, with another dog (10 year collie) and lots of grandkids and people popping around. He loves it there, and whenever he comes back here he just seems so lonely. I popped round at lunch the other day and he was out in the garden running around being crazy. Even with this beautiful weather at our house he just curls up in the hall and looks sad.
I try and take him for lots of walks when he's with us, usually with other friends and dogs so he can play, but I can't help but wonder if he would be better in a house with another dog. That also leads me to wonder whether I should get another dog to keep him company, but the daycare wouldn't take 2 so it would mean 2 of them at our home alone for full days (could get a dog walker though and we do have a decent size house / garden so would it be better?)
I'm at my wits end and so tearful about this as I love him to bits, but just want him to be happy and he doesn't seem so here.
Any advice, words of wisdom etc, very welcome.
